Earth Day is an annual event celebrated each year on
April 22nd where events are held to support a sustainable
world. Started in 1970 by John McConnel,
a peace activist, and Gaylord Nelson, a US Senator, Earth Day celebrates the
first day of spring in the Northern hemisphere by inviting individuals and
groups from around the world to get involved. Link
